What LeadScout collects — and what it doesn’t
LeadScout stores your account and the workspace you build in it, shows company research from public sources with its provenance, and runs no third-party ad or analytics trackers. Here is exactly what that means.
The short version: LeadScout stores the account you create and the workspace you build inside it. It does not sell your data, does not run third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and shows company research assembled from public sources — with its provenance — rather than a private profile of you. This is a private alpha, so this page describes how the product works today and may change as it matures.
What we store
| Data | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Account — your email and a one-way hash of your password | To sign you in and keep your workspace private to you. | Our server database. The password is hashed, never stored or logged in plain text. |
| Workspace — the companies, searches, notes, pipeline entries and reports you create | So your work persists and syncs to your account across devices. | Our server database, scoped to your account. Other users cannot read it. |
| Provider keys you add — e.g. a PageSpeed or LLM key entered in Settings | Optional — only if you choose to connect one. They unlock features that call that provider on your behalf. | Some are held only in your browser’s local storage; server-side keys are stored encrypted. Keys are never exposed to other users or embedded in pages. |
| Operational logs — request method, path, status, timing and your workspace id | To run the service, debug failures and measure basic usage during the alpha. | Standard server logs. They record which endpoint was called, not the contents of your work, and use a workspace id rather than extra personal detail. |
What we do not do
- No selling, renting or sharing of your data with third parties.
- No third-party advertising or analytics trackers on our pages — no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no session-replay. (Where you see those names inside the product, LeadScout is detecting them on a company you researched, not running them on you.)
- No building of an advertising profile about you.
Company research and public data
The intelligence LeadScout shows about companies is assembled from public sources — registries, DNS, web archives, company websites, performance APIs and similar — each shown with where it came from and what it cannot prove. It can be incomplete or out of date, and a missing figure is shown as missing rather than filled in with an estimate. Treat it as evidence to check, not as a verified record, and verify before acting on it. Our companion Data sources & methodology page lists exactly which sources are used.
Your choices
- Export — most modules let you export what you have created at any time.
- Deletion — you can ask us to delete your account and its workspace data; we will remove it from the live service.
- Provider keys — remove a key you added in Settings to stop the feature that used it.
Contact
This is a private, invitation-only alpha. For any question about your data, to request export or deletion, or to report a concern, contact the LeadScout team through the person who invited you to the alpha. When we open more widely, this page will be updated with a direct contact route and the legal entity responsible for your data.
